Ashley Berrang

Executive Director

Ashley Berrang is the Executive Director of the ITI Institute, the 501(c)3 educational affiliate of ITI. Ashley was named to the leadership role in 2023, launched the organization in 2024, and now leads its programs and operations. 

As Executive Director of the ITI Institute, Ashley is a driving force in shaping the national conversation around technology. She is passionate about working at the intersection of politics, policy and communications.

A strategic and results-oriented leader, Ashley brings a wealth of experience to the Institute, also serving as ITI's Executive Vice President of Public Affairs. In this role, she leads global initiatives on critical policy areas, including AI, trade, cybersecurity, privacy and energy. Ashley also manages the business of the association, achieving year over year membership and revenue growth since assuming that portfolio.In her time at ITI, Ashley has led several other departments, including government affairs and standards development. 
Her career is marked by a commitment to collaboration and tackling complex issues, honed through senior roles in government and the private sector. 

Before joining ITI, Ashley served as a senior aide, communications strategist and spokesperson for a top-ranking leader in the United States Senate. There she led all outreach to media, constituents and local businesses. Ashley began her career in policy communications at the Bipartisan Policy Center. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and studied at the London School of Economics and Bond University in Australia. 

Marissa Salzman

Director of Events

As the Director of Events, Marissa sets the strategic development and implementation of all events for the ITI Institute.Before joining ITI, Marissa worked across news media organizations bringing newsrooms to life on the mainstage. In her most recent role at Axios, she focused on Axios Local events spanning 30 cities - news and events covered by locals, for locals.

Marissa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication - Public Relations from the University of Maryland, go Terps, and resides in Washington, D.C.
